Exhibitor Q&A: Steve Morecroft, OEM Key Account Manager, Camozzi Automation Ltd
Can you please share a little about yourself with our visitors?
Camozzi Automation Ltd is a subsidiary of Camozzi Automation S.p.A., a leading Italian provider of automaton solutions, founded in 1964 offering pneumatic, electric actuation and proportional solutions.
I am the OEM Key Account Manager for Camozzi Automation Ltd for the Midlands region. I have been working at Camozzi for 4 years now but have spent the last 25 years working in various technical and sales roles for companies within the fluid power and automation sectors.
We are a friendly, reliable and knowledgeable company who pride ourselves on offering the best solutions possible for our customers, so please do call onto our stand and say hello!
Can you please tell us why you chose to exhibit at Robotics & Automation 2019?
We’ve heard great things about the Robotics & Automation show from previous years so decided it was time to see what all the fuss is about! We really like the feedback from previous exhibitors on the quality of people attending the exhibition.
The exhibitor list is very impressive and we’re really excited to meet existing and potential new customers to find out more about their business and to discuss how we can help with their automation needs.
What will you be sharing with visitors to the exhibition?
We will be focusing mainly on our excellent range of electric actuation products but we are also very proud to introduce a couple of really exciting new ‘smart’ products we have recently developed that focus on Industry 4.0 and automation in general.
The Series D valve island has been developed to meet the growing demand from the market for an advanced ‘smart’ valve solution. A key feature of the Series D is its patented ‘CoilVision’ technology that constantly monitors the operational parameters of the solenoid. The diagnostics system provides, through a web platform with a graphic interface, an overview of the on/off state of each valve, the number of cycles, the level of power consumption and any possible overheating in the coil. Essentially a valve islands that can warn you of an issue before it happens helping keep production lines running!
The Series PRE proportional pressure regulator, also with patented ‘CoilVision’ technology has been similarly designed to constantly monitor the operation of the solenoids and prevent any possible malfunction. The data collected is transmitted to the cloud and can be made easily available to the customer through a dashboard. The Series PRE is available in two sizes and in a number of different configurations, among which is an IO-Link connection.
What do you feel are the biggest challenges facing the industry at the moment?
There is quite a lot of uncertainty in the market at the moment with ongoing negotiations over our departure from Europe. However, at Camozzi Automation Ltd we are continuing to do what we do best, providing solutions into the automation industry. We’re proud to have outperformed the BPFA growth forecast for the previous 5 years and long may it continue with the help of all our valued customers! We’re proud to support UK manufacturing and really looking forward to meeting like-minded people at the upcoming Robotics & Automation show!
